Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to simulate data as you create the solution?
A way to test the solution with mock values and apply data directly in the solution?

That’s the reason data simulations feature was added to the product.  Unlike external API testing tools like Postman, API AutoFlow data simulation enable you to create data that you can utilize in your solution.

Below is an example of how simulated data is applied directly to the actions.

Data generation

1. Turn ON/OFF the data simulation feature
2. Create multiple data simulation scenarios

Request Data
3. Mock API request data values
3.1  Flow transaction data will detect the incoming request data value and make it available to be used in the action
3.2  Actions can reference the flow transaction data by dragging-and-dropping the data field into the setting

In the example above,
(3) a mock data of “Hello World” was generated.
(3.1) The “data set” action received the data in “request body” as shown the flow transaction data
(3.2) Whatever data that comes in from “request body” is applied to the “value” of the action. In this case, the data that came in was “Hello World”

Response Data
4.1  The response data of the “whole flow” based on the simulated data
4.2   The response data of the “selected action” based on the simulated data
4.3   Actions can reference the flow transaction data by dragging-and-dropping the data field into the setting
